Crafting Community—

Athena's Kafenio is a family-owned establishment, co-founded by John H. Lymberis and his brother-in-law, Fotios Petropoulos. Deeply rooted in the community of Sadsburyville, our mission was to create more than just a café; we aspired to craft a welcoming gathering place for all.

Inspired by the cherished tradition of Kafenios in Greece, where communities come together to meet, converse, and savor daily life, Athena's Kafenio was born. The name itself pays homage to John's mother, Athena, as we aim to emulate the warmth of family in every cup of coffee and bite of pastry.

Within the charmingly restored Victorian-era farmhouse, you'll find a cozy haven, graced with warm finishes and exquisite tile work throughout. With its convenient location, easily accessible via sidewalks, you'll be able to enjoy our offerings from across the community. There's ample off-street parking and a spacious patio for outdoor seating, making Athena's a hub for both convenience and comfort.

At Athena's, we're proud to offer you locally sourced quality ingredients. Our craft coffee is locally sourced from Lancaster County Coffee Roasters,

freshly roasted to order in small batches, including our signature house blend created exclusively for us. The coffee menu features a variety of options, from flavored lattes to Greek coffee, ensuring every coffee lover finds their perfect cup. Additionally, our premium ice cream is locally produced by the family-owned Leiby's Ice Cream, offering 16 luscious flavors that you can enjoy in a range of delightful treats, including homemade waffle cones, parlor sundaes, and thick milkshakes.

Our bakery is a treasure trove of pastries, including classics like baklava, scones, muffins, cookies, cream puffs, and much more, each with a hint of Greek influence. For those special occasions, we also provide custom order cakes, cupcakes, and ice cream cakes, all expertly crafted by our in-house pastry chef.

Athena's Kafenio, open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. (10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays), has already captured the hearts of many with its inviting decor and a logo that reflects Greek inspiration, creating an atmosphere that brings people together.
